What do you love about your job?

I love what I do! I can sort through a box of information and turn it into a complete financial statement. I enjoy meeting new people and working with them, helping them to solve their needs in accounting. I love the independence of being my own boss.

I love Thumbtack! If it wasn't for finding Thumbtack.com, I would be out of business. I moved to San Diego and started my own business. I wasn't getting any new clients and I was exhausting my savings. I was almost in panic mode when I came across an advertisement for Thumbtack. I created a profile and filled out every request that was sent to me. I landed my first client through the website and now I have about 10 clients just from Thumbtack. I just wanted you to know that you do make a difference. The support has always been great. Thanks for helping me survive as a business and to the whole staff!

Who or what inspired you to start your business?

I have worked in the accounting business for 30 years. The last 25 with a CPA firm. I thought I could do it on my own but I didn't have the guts to follow through and take the first step. Then one day I realized that I would be so disappointed in myself if I didn't get out there and try. So I did! I am successful and I am very proud of myself. It takes a lot of guts and just a little bit of crazy to follow your dreams! Go on do it! Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
